“I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful Gloria and her crew are. We had both our ceremony and reception at the Curtis House. There are many beautiful options to choose from on the property. The inside of the house is gorgeous and would be perfect for a small wedding. For a larger wedding, the grounds have many beautiful areas. There is an apple orchard, beds of perennials, a wooded area, and a large open grassy area. We had our ceremony on the edge of the woods. The photos of the ceremony with the soaring trees in the background are breathtaking. We had the reception in a tent close to the house. Gloria has an amazing collection of vintage plates and silverware. That coupled with the beautiful linens and flower arrangements gave me exactly the look I was after – simple but elegant. The woman who did the flowers was a true artist and designed beautiful arrangements everywhere – not just on the tables, but on all the serving areas, throughout the grounds and house, even in the bathroom. The menu we were given to choose from was varied with many top-notch choices. The food was all cooked and served to perfection. When it began to get dark there were hundreds of candles on the porch and throughout the trees and grounds – it was absolutely beautiful. Gloria took care of every detail – there was no request she could not handle. She is a delight to deal with – calm, reassuring, one of those people who can keep 5 balls in the air at the same time and make it look easy. Our wedding was in August, but as night fell there was a slight chill in the air. Gloria came out with one of the most beautiful shawls I have ever seen for me to wear. I found out later it had belonged to her mother. For her to loan me what has to be one of her most cherished possessions – that sums up Gloria in a nutshell – thoughtful, kind and giving. There are so many choices these days for where to book a wedding – trust me, the best decision you could make is to have yours at the Curtis House.”
